Initiative for Peace in Iraq Announced at Be About Peace Day

Memorial 01 small.jpgSouth Mountain Peace Action announced a new Iraq peace initiative with Families of the Fallen for Change at the rededication of the peace memorial at the Ethical Culture Society at the end of Be About Peace Day on March 18, 2006.

The joint initiative recommends that the Iraq withdrawal resolution of Congressman John Murtha be amended to incorporate the benchmark proposal of Families of the Fallen for Change. The initiative also calls for greater international involvement to help Iraq build its civil institutions.
